Hail MN!

Last weekend I was fortunate to run across two MN state plates at Savers. They were each the right color tag (green, I think?) so they were on sale. Savers has a tendency to mark up their trinket section, so these were definitely a bargain. Lucky me! Our plate wall is growing and growing. That little birdy plate is a recent addition, too.

I have a few plates on my radar on Etsy (you can check them out below). The two tin plates are particularly unique and vibrant, which is neat because many state plates copy the same imagery and patterns. In fact, two plates on my wall have the same imagery, but different border styles, colors, and sizes – oops. Anyway, I can’t really justify spending upwards of $15 on the Etsy plates that I could potentially find at thrift stores for less that $3. So we’ll see what comes of that. Wishful thinking, I guess.

Ultimately, I’d like to sprinkle in some more modern and contemporary patterned places to give the wall a more eclectic, not-so-granny vibe. But for what it is right now, I’m really enjoying my new collection.
