I have to start somewhere, right? Welcome to my website. I mostly want this to be a place where I can write about my thrifty finds, projects I’m working on, or things I see that inspire me. I suppose it’s also one of those “everyone else is doing it, so why can’t I?” kind of things. I’ve also been getting more and more interested in web design and want to experiment more with my own material – I’m quickly learning to let go of tweaking the actual site design and dive in to planning posts and actually writing.
Since graduating from college two years ago, I’ve realized that I actually miss writing prompts and journal entries, even if they were assignments earning me a grade and a critique. At the time I probably rolled my eyes and huffed under my breath how pointless those assignments were, but I really do miss them. I hope that by putting some time and effort into my writing, I’ll be able to utilize this space in a way that makes me feel more connected to words and my own narrative voice. I write an awful lot of terse emails and bland grant proposals during the weekdays, so I think taking a break to reflect on life outside of the workday will be a welcome respite. However, please don’t assume that because I was an English major I’ll actually remember (or follow) all of the rules.
